Yarrawarrah Tigers 2020 Yearbook

We are very pleased to present the 2020 Season Yearbook on behalf of the Yarrawarrah Tigers Committee.

Season 2020 will long be remembered as the COVID year and there were serious doubts whether the season would get under way at all given the risk of infection in NSW. However, after many meetings, the development of Covid safety plans and strict match day requirements-a shortened season finally got underway in July. We managed to register nine teams this year, which was pleasing given that many families had made the decision not to play because of the pandemic.

We had a total of 83 player registrations, 75 Boys and 8 Girls (double last years numbers), compared to 2019's registrations of 91 with 87 Boys and 4 Girls. 24 Tigers players sought transfers to other clubs in 2020 with 7 players joining us from other clubs. This is a great effort given the circumstances and our early recruitment drive paid off.

We had a great deal of interest in the U6's and we were able to field two teams in this age group as well as an U7 team. We also had three merged teams in the U9's with the Taren Point Titans, the U12's with the Bosco Bulldogs and the U16's with Como Jannali Crocodiles.

All teams played well this year with some sparkling attacking play backed up by some tough defence. The home games at Yarrawarrah Oval are always a highlight and we had some memorable weekends and hosted some great games this year. What was most pleasing is the feedback we receive from visiting teams who always pass on how welcome they feel and how much they enjoy bring their teams to Yarrawarrah.

We were very pleased to have two Premiership winning teams this year, with the U9's beating the Como Crocs 42-12 in the Grand Final and the U13's also defeating the Como Crocs 20-12 in their Grand Final Both teams played great games and were well deserved winners on the day.

We would like to give a huge Tigers shout-out to all coaches, managers and trainers who made this season such a special one given the difficult conditions. We would also like to thank all Tigers players and families for choosing to play your football with the Tigers, it means a lot and we hope you enjoyed the season. Finally, we would like to thank our sponsors for continuing to support us through a difficult year.

We hope to see you all again next year and we look forward to celebrating even more individual and team success throughout the year.
