The U10's had a great season after a difficult start. A promotion to Division 1 after last season heroics pitted the team against some strong opposition and unfortunately the team tasted some heavy defeats before the competition split.
They remained in contention for a Grand Final berth right until the last game of the season where a 20-20 draw with Gymea saw the Gorillas pip the Tigers on points difference. This game proved to be a perfect metaphor for the U10's season, going behind early then rediscovering their form to get back in the game, only to be pipped at the post.
The Tigers record was was Played 10, Won 4, Draw 1 and Lost 5, scoring 196 points and conceding 280. The standout games of the season both came against Gymea where a 36-30 victory in Round 2 will go down as one of the best games seen at Yarrawarrah Oval, with the Tigers scoring in the final seconds to snatch victory and the heart-breaking 20-20 draw against Gymea in Round 5 which saw the Tigers come back from a 14-0 deficit and with a bit of luck may have won the game.
The whole team played well this year and there is plenty to be hopeful about next season. Zac, Ethan, Kai G and Hudson troubled most teams with their speed and skill and Lewis, Keidis, Jack and Hunter provided pace on the outside. Our Big Boppers Leo and Dane troubled most defences with their strength and agility and Max, Arlo, Bailey and Kai O'C also made strong contributions with their support play and tackling.
This season could best be described as the one that got away and many thanks to Aaron, Harrison, Amanda and Gerome for supporting the boys this season and challenging them to be better and support each other when their heads were down.
