Calling all Tigers-It's time for another Tiger Talk update.
On July 1st, the NSW Rugby League announced, that all clubs across the state can now resume full contact training, in unlimited group sizes as part of the Government’s easing of COVID-19 restrictions for state sporting organisations. Our U6 and U7 teams were the first teams to participate in full contact training and didn't the tackle bags get a full workout! It was great to see so many of our Tiger cubs taking to the training field and just enjoying being able to tackle again.
This year there are one or two new additions from the JRL and the Tigers that will make communication much easier and more accessible across all teams.
MySideline is the new LeagueNet and is the game's new Competition Management and Participant Membership System. Servicing 1200 Clubs, MySideline is the core system to manage Participants, Teams, Clubs, Leagues and Competitions. All Tigers managers will use this system to track attendance, update scores and complete match reports.
The Tigers website also has a new feature called Match Day (see below). If you click on the following link this will take you to a match day page that will give you all of the results, photos and match reports from each team playing for the Yarrawarrah Tigers in 2020.
We really encourage parents to get involved in this page by sharing photos and videos taken on the day so we can incorporate into our blogs and reports. We know many parents take tens and in some cases hundreds of photos during the season and we would love you to share with us either on your Team Facebook Page, the Friends of Yarra Tigers Facebook Page or your teams Whats App Page, this way we can get a fuller picture of what's happening across all teams during the season.
In other news, we finalised our team nominations for the 2020 season and the committee is pleased to share the following update with parents.
The Tigers will have X 2 U6 teams
The Tigers will have an U7 team
The Tigers and Titans will field a merged U9 team
The Tigers will have an U10 team
The Tigers will have an U12 team
The Tigers will have an U13 team
The Tigers and Crocs will field a merged U16 team
This is a great effort given the uncertainty brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic and we are all set for the July 18 kick off and we wish all of our teams and players the very best for the season ahead.
We know many families are going away during the school holidays and we hope you have a great break. Stay safe and we look forward to seeing everyone again over the coming weeks.
Stay tuned for more Tiger Talk throughout the season and only 16 days to go before kick-off.
