Round 8-3 and 4 June 2023

Round 8 served up some great games in Tigertown but unfortunately results went against us this week. Enjoy the reports and galleries below.

Tigers U6 48 Blue De La Salle Blue 52

In a high scoring game The Tigers went down 13 tries to 12 to De La Salle. The Tigers had a chance to even things up with the last play of the game but a great saving tackle prevented the Tigers scoring. The Tigers had multiple try scorers with Ollie Trevillian grabbing 5, Kingston Taylor and Conor Lehane bagging 3 each and Daniel Crawford scoring 1. Another fantastic effort by the Tigers and if you have never see this team play, we highly recommend that you watch them play before the end of the season.

Tigers U7 Blue 52 Taren Point Titans Blue 60

In another cracking game the Tigers went down to a strong Titans team 15 tries to 13. At one stage the Titans looked like they were going to run away with the game, but the Tigers dug deep and got themselves back into the game. Jake McMillan scored 8 tries and was outstanding throughout the game, Robert Couley scored 3 tries and Layken Koprivic and Jaxon Good scored 1 apiece. The U7's just seem to be lacking a bit of self-belief at the moment and when they find it, they will be hard to hold out.

Tigers U8 Blue 18 De La Salle Blue 32

The Tigers came up against a fast and well organised De La Salle team today and went down 6 tries to 3. We congratulate Kade Jones who made his 50th appearance for the Tigers, which is a great effort. Ray Logie put in another impressive performance scoring 2 tries and Oscar Nicholls grabbed the other for the Tigers. There is a lot to like about the U8's and if they keep turning up for each other, they will go on a winning streak soon.

Tigers U9 Blue 34 De La Salle Blue 60

After the highs of last week the U9's came crashing down to earth being defeated by an impressive De La Salle team 11 tries to 6. Zac May was celebrating his 50th game for the Tigers and he put in a brave performance in a game of few highlights for the Tigers. Zac May and Aston Gibbons scored 2 tries apiece and Hayden Walker scored 1 for the Tigers. Sometimes you just come up against a stronger team and the Tigers will be looking to get back to winning ways next week.

Tigers U13 Bronze 4 Cronulla Caringbah Bronze 50

We always knew this would be a tough game for the Tigers but nobody expected the result. The Sharks were stronger in all areas and the Tigers were unable to apply any pressure. Nathan Baldrock scored the only try for the Tigers in a sobering defeat.

Tigers U16 Silver 10 Penshurst Silver 26

Another solid performance by the Tigers pushing the league leaders and making them work hard for their victory. The Tigers started the game strongly and came home with a wet sail but the Kookaburras put on too many tries in the middle of the game for the Tigers to get close. Next week's break will suit the U16's as players will be able to fully recuperate and come back strong for a must win game against De La Salle.

Tigers O35 Silver 14 Kurnell Stingrays 14

Victory was snatched away from the Tigers who were stung in the final minutes by the Stingrays. In an even and entertaining game the Tigers carried their form from last week into this game and the Stingrays were floundering, like a fish out of water. For a new team, the Tigers are looking more organised each week and the combinations are starting to pay off.

It was another entertaining Saturday in TIGERTOWN as we celebrated 50 games for Kade Jones and Zac May. Zac Jansson in the U6's, Jake McMillan with 8 tries in the U7's, Oscar Nicholls in the U8's, Archer Brassington in the U9's and Leo Giovenco in the U13's Bronze all had stand out performances and the O35's as a team must be celebrated for the recent performances. We go again next week Tigers.

Thanks to De La Salle, Cronulla Caringbah, the Titans and Stingrays for a great weekend of junior footy and we wish all teams the best for the remainder of the season.
