Match Day 8 was in serious danger of being postponed due to the recent COVID restrictions announced by the NSW Government, however late on Friday afternoon we were given the green light by the JRL and NSWRL and all matches were going ahead as planned. Although this was good news for many, some parents were impacted by the Stay at Home Orders for the Woollahra, Waverley, Randwick and City of Sydney Council and were unable to travel to games. We appreciate everyone complying with the new requirements at the games and it certainly made for a strange atmosphere at all grounds.
Enjoy the reports below and it was fantastic to have such great weather this weekend after the recent rains. Well done to all Tigers teams for putting in another brilliant effort this weekend and we are sorry to all players who either couldn't make it to the ground and/or were sick-You were missed.

U6 Yellow Tigers 68 V Engadine Dragons 60
The U6 team continued with their winning ways with a gutsy performance against the Dragons. With two players out Sonny Faughey and Layken Koprivic the team had to call on all of their reserves (and their wasn't much left in the final quarter) to get over the line and claim a famous victory.
Arlo Gibbons top scored for the Tigers with 7 tries and his speed and awareness of what was in front of him made a big difference today, Hendrix Crawley was close behind with 6 tries and Jake McMillan finished off the scoring with 4. The Tigers attacked from the outset and put on a 20-8 lead in the first quarter. The Dragons defended valiantly and were camped on their line for long periods. In the second quarter both teams put on 3 tries apiece before the Dragons found their mojo and scored 5 tries in the third quarter. Angelo Talotta was team captain and he put in a solid performance in defence and attack. Josh Dart, Hendrix Austin and Bodhi Preen were involved all over the park and did a great job with their extra game time and we are getting closer to Niki Hatzitheodorou having his first game for the Tigers as he builds up his confidence to take the field.
Jake McMillan was awarded Player of the Game and he was exceptional in defence and attack, Hendrix Austin won the encouragement award and his improvement and confidence is clear to see and Bodhi Preen was given the spirit award for a great effort. Another high scoring win for the U6's who are absolutely loving their football at the moment, 128 points, 32 tries and countless smiles from both teams-Who could ask for more.
Player of the Game: Jake McMillan
Encouragement Award: Hendrix Austin
Tigers Spirit Award: Bodhi Preen

U7 Blue Tigers 24 V Cronulla Caringbah Sharks 64
The U7 Blue team put in a much improved performance this week against a strong Sharks team and playing anybody else they may have had a chance of a win. The Sharks went out to a 28-4 lead in the first two quarters, and there were real fears that they would run over the top of us again, but in the third and fourth quarters we found our confidence and scored 5 tries to finish strongly. Charlotte Dart scored 2 tries and Kade Jones, Hunter Welfare with his first for the club, Toby Hampson and Ruby McLennan all chipped in with a try each.
Hudson Amor had his best game in a Tigers shirt making some impressive runs and making many important tackles. Kade Jones was awarded Player of the Game and he often led the way for his team mates both in attack and in defence by making some important runs and always looking to go forward. Charlotte Dart won the spirit award and epitomised the Tigers spirit throughout the game with her never say die attitude and constant encouragement for her team. Lachlan Couley also made some strong tackles (it was that sort of game) and Ruby and Hunter made a number of important contributions throughout the game.
Player of the Game: Kade Jones
Encouragement Award: Hudson Amor
Tigers Spirit Award: Charlotte Dart

U7 Green Tigers 56 V Gymea Gorillas 60
The U7 Green team's winning streak has ended with a narrow defeat to the Gorillas in an entertaining game that swung at every quarter. The Tigers led at the first and second quarters 20-16 and 32-22 before the Gorillas fought their way back with an impressive third quarter to take the lead and narrowly hold on in the fourth.
Levi Horne and Aston Gibbons top scored with 5 tries and were well supported by Max Horne with a double and Hayden Walker and Hendrix Crawley grabbing one apiece. The Tigers played their usual brand of fast footy with plenty of off-loads and good support play but were just unable to get over the top of the Gorillas in the final quarter. Logan Estcourt was awarded Player of the Game and he was very involved throughout the game. Aston Gibbons and Levi Horne were a constant threat and used their speed to trouble the Gorillas defenders. Zac May was a bundle of energy all around the field and we also give a big TIGERS shout-out to Hendrix Crawley who played up for the 7's today from the U6's and he held his own against some much bigger boys and even scored a try.
Player of the Game: Logan Estcourt
Encouragement Award: Hendrix Crawley
Tigers Spirit Award: Aston Gibbons

U11 Bronze Tigers 12 V Menai Roosters 34
The 9.5 player Tigers more than held their own against the top of the table Roosters today and if the ball had bounced more kindly, we may well have seen a different outcome. In a swirling wind the Tigers defended as one and worked together to cover the gaps from being a couple of players light. It was a tremendous effort by the team and despite the defeat this game will tighten the bond between the players and there is sure to be a reaction in the coming weeks, when they are at full strength.

U11 Silver Tigers 28 V Joeys 24
The 9 player Tigers held on for a griity win against Joeys to reverse the early season defeat against the same team in Round 2. In difficult conditions that Tigers leapt out to an early 12-0 lead and looked comfortable, before letting Joeys back into the game and then it became a real grind as both teams looked for the win to keep them near the top of the table. In the end the Tigers held on for a 28-24 win but it was close and this is a game they will be pleased to get behind them.

Tigers Spirit Award:

U12 Silver Merged Bosco/Tigers 16 V Joeys 6
The merged U12 team are certainly enjoying life in the Silver Division as they notch up their second win of the season against a strong Joeys outfit.
