Match Day 6 and this round was the beginning of the new competitions after re-grading in the U9, U10, U12 and U13 competitions. All Tigers teams were graded in the lower half of each draw and some teams now have a good chance to play Grand Final football at the end of the year.

It was a bright but bitterly cold weekend and with a strong breeze making the playing conditions pretty tricky, many teams had to adapt their game plan to suit the wintry conditions. We had 3 games at Yarrawarrah Oval with two wins and a narrow loss which kept the home spectators happy and unfortunately we didn't have as much luck on the road with many of our teams going down on the scoreboard.

U6 Blue Yarrawarrah Tigers 40 Gymea Gorillas 56

A great team performance by the U6 Blue team this week and the game was closer than the score suggests. We were in the game for a long period and the Gorillas scored 3 unanswered tries which gave them the buffer they needed to go on and win the game. Aston Gibbons and Hayden Walker were our main try scorers with 5 to Aston and 3 to Hayden and Charlotte Dart kept the scoreboard busy with 2 tries. The cubs carried on from last week, with lot's of offloads and there were some great tackles by Hendrix, Arlo and Zachary.

U6 Yellow Yarrawarrah Tigers 44 De La Salle 36

The Under 6 Yellow team got back to winning ways with a strong team performance against a strong De La Salle outfit. Aston Gibbons carried on where he left off with the U6 Blues scoring 4 tries and Hayden Walker and Kade Jones chipped in with a couple of tries each. The U6's got back to their brand of scintillating football and everyone played their part in a great all round team performance.

U7 Red Yarrawarrah Tigers 16 Cronulla Caringbah 80

The Under 7 Red team played a very strong Sharks outfit who had speed and pace to burn. In a high scoring game the Cronulla Caringbah Sharks just had too much for our Tiger Cubs and ran out easy winners. Noah Merkabaoui was awarded Player of the Game for a strong all round performance and Lennix Ellis scored his first try of the season after many close calls. Another heavy defeat for the 7's but there is no denying their spirit in what is proving to be a tough group.

U9 Tigers/Titans 50 Gymea Gorillas 6

The merged Tigers/Titans team got back to winning ways this week with a convincing win over the Gorillas. This result keeps the team in finals contention in a tough group and will give all players a huge lift after last weeks result.

U10 Yarrawarrah Tigers 10 Aquinas Colts 44

After last weeks high the U10's were brought down to earth by a physical Colts team. This game had some unsavoury moments but the Tigers continued to play good football and not get sucked into the tactics of the Colts. Leo made some big hit-ups and was always available to take the ball up and Zac's defence was unbelievable at times, making one try saving tackle after another. Ethan's running always worried the colts and he scored a great try, stepping and weaving through the Colts defence. This was a disappointing result for the 10's who will need a strong win next week to remain in finals contention.

U13 Yarrawarrah Tigers 26 Aquinas Colts 10

The U13's came up against a very different Colts team to one they defeated 56-6 a couple of weeks ago. This Colts team was a very different proposition, committed in the tackle and taking the game up to the Tigers at every opportunity, they led early in the game and had a very strong first half. The Tigers managed to reassert their dominance going into the half-time break 12-10 ahead before keeping the Colts scoreless in the second half and getting back into the groove and scoring some good tries. We had 5 different try scorers this week with Alex Mantik, Albie Lamaro, Luke Fenton, Zinzan Delaney-Fielding and Kobi Porter all getting on the scoreboard with Kobi's being the pick of the bunch, a fantastic team effort going through lot's of hands before being finished off in the left corner. Zinzan had another strong game and made plenty of line breaks and Fintan Kelly was solid on the left wing, making some important runs and holding up well in defence. The U13's play Gymea next week before a crunch game against table topping Como.
