Happy Days to be back at Yarrawarrah Oval and even better was the news that the cameras would be at the ground to stream all games on Match Day 5.

"It's the eye of the tiger, it's the thrill of the fight, rising up to the challenge of our rivals"

The ground had held up reasonably well after last weeks deluge, and although we had a number of puddles and some surface water, this just added to the drama on the day, and all teams were looking forward to getting on the park and getting a couple of wins on the board. We were honoured to be hosting the annual Val Kearns shield game between Bosco and the Dragons U8's this year and it was great to catch-up and say hello to Mark Kearns and his family on this special occasion in the junior league calendar. A Big Tigers Shout Out to all players, spectators and volunteers for making this week such a memorable experience and we are sure there were a number of special memories created for all players.

U6 Blue Yarrawarrah Tigers 32 De La Salle 60

The Under 6 Blue team played a great game against a strong De La Salle team and showed plenty of Tiger spirit and team work throughout. Hayden Walker had a standout performance scoring 6 tries and tacking everything in sight. Aston Gibbons chipped in with a couple of important tries and had a good game making plenty of runs. Zachary May was awarded Player of the Game this week for his all round effort and Arlo Gibbons was awarded the Spirit Award for constantly encouraging his teammates. It was great to see the midweek skills training pay off this week as the The Tiger cubs managed to get one offload after another throughout the game.

U6 Yellow Yarrawarrah Tigers 40 Gymea Gorillas 52

The Under 6 Yellow team came up against a very physical Gorillas team who tackled hard all game. This was another exciting game to watch and the Tigers were right in the game until the final whistle. Kade Jones was awarded Player of the Game for his strong support play and scoring a great try and Charlotte Dart was awarded the Spirit Award for her 5 tries and some amazing runs. Charlize, Marley and Sonny also scored tries this week and it was another great team performance with everyone making a contribution and enjoying themselves.

U7 Red Yarrawarrah Tigers 12 Aquinas Colts 68

The Under 7 Red team played a good game against a strong and pacy Colts outfit. The team showed great spirit and determination and kept playing until the final whistle. Harrison Long scored a couple of tries and Flynn Bults also got on the scoresheet and with a bit of luck we could have had a couple more tries. Jaimee-May Kane had another strong game, tackling well and making runs when she had some space and Lennix Ellis was also a threat with his pace and skill. Despite the scoreline this was another competitive performance by the 7's and if they keep showing this spirit a win is surely just around the corner.

U9 Tigers/Titans 12 Bosco Bulldogs 34

The merged Tigers/Titans team looked a little out of sorts this week but were still competitive in a tight match with the Bulldogs. Harlan Taylor was a constant threat with some strong mazy runs and he scored 2 great tries. Cooper Hulbert also had a strong game and made some important runs and tackles. Zaya Avega playing her first game for the club looked like a natural and made some strong tackles and had a good debut. Despite the loss the team can take heart that they were competitive and on any other day it may well have been a different result.

U10 Yarrawarrah Tigers 48 Engadine Dragons 22

The Under 10 team put on a sparkling performance against a strong Dragons team and this was a morale boosting victory after some disappointing efforts in recent weeks. Everybody played well and there were some standout performances with Zac Porter scoring a hat trick of tries, Dane Buman worrying the Dragons defence with his strong line runs and Lewis Amesbury having a great all round game, tackling, passing and making some crucial runs. Lewis was awarded Player of the Game and Hudson Lane was awarded the Spirit Award for his all round effort and a very strong last quarter. The 10's obviously love playing at home as this is 2 consecutive victories now, now where are we playing next week.

U12 Gold Tigers/Bosco 18 De La Salle 8

U12 Silver Tigers/Bosco 10 Cronulla Caringbah 20

We welcomed the two merged Bosco/Tigers teams for their first appearance at Yarrawarrah Oval. Both teams played well with the Silver team narrowly going down to a bigger Cronulla Sharks outfit. Millie Cowie and Hudson Wilcox both scored tries and the team played well and showed plenty of spirit in difficult conditions. The Gold team turned on a great performance and in a tight game managed to score a couple of late tries to give themselves some breathing space. Lachlan Psniti scored a hat trick and Dash Delaney-Fielding and Rhys Fletcher chipped in with a try each. It was great to watch the teams play today at the oval and both teams will take plenty of confidence into their next games after strong performances.

U13 Yarrawarrah Tigers 4 Cronulla Caringbah 6

The Under 13 team left Yarrawarrah Oval yesterday scratching their heads on how they lost this game. In a fiercely competitive match neither team gave any quarter and it was a real grind in the forwards with both teams trying to get a physical advantage. The team was strong in attack with Zinzan Delaney-Fielding, Thomas Robinson and Jacob Way finding gaps and punching through holes and our outside centres and backs; Luke Harrison, Maddox Jones, Fintan Kelly and Jai McEwen all had speed to worry the defence. There was another strong showing from the forwards with Ashton Elsner having a particularly strong game, making yards and busting through tackles all game. The team was obviously disappointed with the defeat but another strong showing and our first defeat in front of the cameras.

A busy day at the Oval and despite some early dramas we managed to put on a good day for all teams. Thank you to all players, managers and committee members for your hard work on the day and a special shout-out to all of the opposition managers and coaches who also helped out with ground set up. Please enjoy the gallery below and thanks to everyone for sharing your photos.
