It's that time of the year again.... deciding on which winter sports to play.
If you are thinking of signing your son or daughter with a team for the first time, or you may have been involved with a club for a couple of years, but it just doesn't feel right, then why not consider the Yarrawarrah Tigers?
We are a family orientated footy club that offers both junior and senior teams playing in the Cronulla-Sutherland District Rugby Football League. We first started in 1978 and we are renowned for being friendly, inclusive and a great starting place for junior players to learn the game.
Fun and safety are the mantras of our club and we ensure that all our players get to have a go and feel comfortable playing week to week. All Tigers coaches and trainers hold the right accreditations and working with children checks and we make sure that all Tigers players, coaches and supporters play the game in the right spirit and are good sports, even if we suffer a loss.
Playing a team sport and being within a team environment is a great way for kids to build on their social skills such as teamwork, communication, problem solving and relationship building. We make sure all age levels take an interest in what is happening across the club and we encourage the older kids to help out with training and act as role models for the junior teams.
As you can see from the photos, we are very active on social media and we love to promote every player and every team that represents the Tigers. Despite our size, our teams often play finals and we have been lucky to win our fair share of premierships in fact two of our teams won Premierships last season. We take great pride in the fact that we play footy in the right way and we are first and foremost an inclusive club, that supports and encourages our players to be the best they can, on and off the field.
